Dry beans, or field beans, are several different types of edible seeds of a single species, Phaseolus vulgaris L.

Dry peas are the small, edible round green beans which grow in a pod on the leguminous vine Pisum sativum.

Lentils are a green, brown or yellow flat legume about the size of a pea used for soups, stews, and garnishes.
